About this set

To celebrate the long-awaited crowning of King Charles III, the UK’s Royal Mint released this exquisite Three-Coin Gold Proof Sovereign Set - which includes the 2023 Coronation editions of The Sovereign, Half-Sovereign and Quarter-Sovereign. Featuring a design that dates back to this coin’s inception during the reign of King George III, this is the first Sovereign collection to feature the crowned portrait of King Charles III - reserved only for use on the most significant Royal events - by the royal portrait artist, Martin Jennings. Continuing a Sovereign tradition that dates back to 1817, the reverse of each coin features Benedetto Pistrucci’s iconic St George and the dragon design. Struck in 22-carat gold and finished to Proof standard – the highest standard available – the Bradford mint is delighted to have secured a strictly limited amount of these spectacular three-coin sets from The Royal Mint itself. In brand new condition - together offering 12.81 grams of pure gold – the coins are offered in their original presentation case from The Royal Mint and are accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
